Unlock Your Canadian Tech Career with the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program's Accelerated Tech Pathway!

The Accelerated Tech Pathway within the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) offers fast-tracked processing for foreign workers. This applies to those who are presently employed by or have received a job offer from a tech industry employer based in Alberta, provided they work in a qualifying tech occupation.

Eligibility Requirements​

  • You possess an active Express Entry profile within the federal Express Entry pool.
  • You satisfy the eligibility criteria for at least one of the federal immigration programs managed by Express Entry, which may include the Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Trades Program, or Federal Skilled Worker Program.
  • Your primary occupation listed in your federal Express Entry profile is either in demand, part of a specific Express Entry stream pathway, or associated with a provincial economic, sectoral, or occupational priority.
  • Your intention and ability align with residing and working permanently in Alberta, and you have expressed a desire to immigrate permanently to Alberta.
  • You have achieved a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 300.
  • Your primary occupation does not appear on the Alberta Opportunity Stream Ineligible Occupations list.
  • The number of applications or nominations received for your primary occupation through the AAIP in the current calendar year is considered reasonable to meet the province's economic immigration priorities.
  • You are not a refugee claimant or involved in a federal appeal or removal process.
  • Please note that the AAIP cannot intervene in federal refugee claim, appeal, or removal processes.
  • You do not possess an active nomination under any AAIP stream. (An active nomination refers to one that has not expired or is eligible for extension, or a nomination used to apply for permanent residence with a pending decision.)
  • You are not currently identified as ineligible to re-apply to the AAIP due to misrepresentation.

  • How long does it take for a Student Visa to process?

    If you chose one of the 11 service centers, you must pick up your passport within 14 days; if you chose one of the 22 Blue Dart Courier service sites, you must pick up your passport within 7 days; otherwise i,t will be returned to the Embassy or Consulate
